Mandatory prison sentences for carrying knives

All communities in Britiain have suffered from the increase in knife crime over the years and not least 'the black community'. Young people know that if by chance they are stopped by the police and found to be in possession of a blade they are likely only to receive a caution or at worst a 'slap on the wrist'. Lets save young people's lives and reclaim our streets by sending out a clear message. If you are caught with a knife, you are going to jail for a few years.

Bill of Rights 1689 gave Protestants the right to carry arms. No-one should be imprisoned for carrying arms, but they should certainly be tried and imprisoned for any common-law crime involving harm or loss.
Why send someone to prison for carrying an object if he hasn't actually harmed someone? The police carry arms to protect themselves and the public. The police are public servants, and as such we are their masters. A master's rights must be equal at least to those of the servant, otherwise he isn't really the master.

The act of carry a knife does not make you a criminal, lets not fall into the trap of taking away more freedoms in an attempt to lock up some section of our society we see as more likely to harm someone with a knife.

From being a teenager in the Church Lads Brigade, doing the Duke of Edinburgh, riding British motorcycles, climbing and camping and now archery I have always carried a knife.

Why should I now have to stop or make sure the knife is inaccessible until I can prove that I am performing a task that could require that knife.

We would be better not implementing any new laws until we can enforce the ones we have, like no handheld mobile phone use in cars rather that worrying about banning smoking in cars.

Years ago, every boy had a pen-knife. My father who was a very responsible, law abiding, peace-loving man bought me one when I was about eight years old. I used to go out with it, build camps in the woods, wittle bits of wood and make things like bows and arrows. I NEVER HAD THE URGE TO STAB ANYONE. A blanket ban is rediculous. Idiots, and would be 'gangsters' and the morons who demand something called 'ree speck' whatever that is, are the ones who shouldn't be tolerated carrying any sort of sharp object., not people who have a perfectly innocent reason for being in posession of a so-called offensive weapon. Knives don't stab people without someone holding the handle.
Address the question of why these fools want to stab each other. I WANT THE RIGHT TO WITTLE !!!!
