Referendum on our membership of the EU

Why oh why did they put this Great country into the EU? Back then (1972) we had a wonderful choice EU or our common wealth, I am sure we would of lived well within the common wealth with out being billed every year to a state that gives us nothing in return but problems, they choice our laws & tell us who is allowed in to our country. It is tearing me apart to see Great Britain being bullied & treated this way, once we ruled the waves & everyone had respect for the word British, & that is because it meant something, it meant well made & the spirit to carry on. I hope we can fine our way out of the EU & return to the powerful nation we once was. Come on Scotland, Wales, Ireland, England lets pull together!!

I was a great supporter of the common market, however the whole concept has been hijacked by eurocrats inventing jobs for themselves by introducing daft legislation and Britain is stupid enough to fall for it big time.
I have lived in France for 20 years and if Britain took the same approach, that is, adopting what is beneficial and saying stuff the rest things would be much better just like the French do. Would Britain's wishy washy politicians go down the road of banning religious symbols in schools or kick out the Romanian gypsies & thieves? I think not, instead, they welcome such undesirables and push money in their hands. Believe me, here in France and generally on the continent Britain is considered a joke, I was once proud of being British but now I have to apologize when asked. Make me proud once more if I live long enough to see it.

In last month's Novinite bg there was an article stating that during the last month of 2011, more than 7000 Macedonians had successfully applied for Bulgarian passports, which will give them full access to the benefits of the EU. This brings the total of Macedonians holding EU passports now to something like 50,000. I am concerned that the citizens of many countries bordering the EU are making similar plans and that soon the UK will be flooded with yet more non productive, non English speakers who will come here for the benefis our taxpayers provide. There must be some sort of strict border controls which cannot be over-ruled by judges as in the recent case, whereby a Bangladeshi students has been given permission to stay in Britain by a British judge,after UKBA had issued deportation orders. And the reason he is allowed to stay is because he likes cricket!!!!
