All Halal or Kosher food to be clearly marked.

If these foods must be sold in our shops then they should be clearly marked as such so that those of us who wish not to support these barbaric practices can easily make that choice.

We also need clear labelling to the effect that food is NOT ritually-killed/hell-lal. Anybody who orders food at restaurants or takeaways today, is very likely to be supporting the egregious collapse of traditional British animal welfare standards, by buying ritually-killed meals without being informed. The supermarkets need to experience a huge amount of pressure on this issue: write to them to tell you are not buying from them anymore and are spreading the word; complain at their in-store Customer Services; write to local newspapers (though many will not publish on this, they will sit up and take note); and discuss the issue with everyone you know and get them to do the same. Make no mistake: this is a direct and unequivocal assault on our values and way-of-life, and a test of our resolve to safeguard these - we either face it down, or yet another of our talismans of British decency goes down in flames.

Ultimately, this barbaric practice must be outlawed in this country. After all, in an era where fox hunting, and even whipping race horses, has been prohibitted, how on earth can Halaal slaughter be legal in UK? Where are the Animal Rights campaigners when it comes to pure barbarism?
In the meantime, if a more softly softly approach is required, Halaal or Kosher products could be taxed, as per common practice towards other perceived unpalettable products or activities, such as tobacco smoking. At least this would address the issue of simple ambivalence by non muslim or jewish consumers.

All meat should be clearly marked in such a way that it can be identified as coming from an abattoir that does not support the Islamic or Jewish method of slaughter.
I say this because I do not trust the supermarkets or fast food outlets. To identify meat as Halal or Kosher does not guarantee that other meats, not labelled as such, are not Halal or Kosher. I do not want to support abattoirs that practice such slaughter. As I am the customer, I have the right to know what it is that I am about to consume.

I agree with labelling halal and kosher meats so that we know what we are eating but we should go a step further and Ban halal meat altogether because it is produced in such a cruel way.

Just ban halal meat altogether, even the RSPCA says it is cruel because the animal is not stunned before it's throat is cut, it suffers a lot of stress as well as taking a longer time to die. If it was banned maybe muslims would start to leave the UK.
